Workspace Notifiers (Global Alerting)

Overview

As an Owner or Editor you have the ability to add Workspace flow notifications that applies to all flows within your workspace. This functionality serves as a way to alert you and your organization for when data processes within the Chain.io Portal. For example, if you setup a notification to email your helpdesk whenever there is a flow in a Failed status from the workspace level, then you'll get a message every time any flow fails in your workspace.

This can be very useful for creating a global "catch all" mailbox for failed flows.  It also means you don't have to setup individual notifications in each flow.

Workspace level flow notifications work exactly like normal flow notifications except that you access them from Workspace Settings > Notifiers instead of from the flow configuration. To learn more about configuring notifications click here.

If you configure both workspace level notifications and notifications within an individual flow, then both will run.  This can be helpful if you want to have a workspace level notification to your central helpdesk and specific notifications within flows for particular operations teams.

When you combine workspace level notifications with webhooks, you can use this feature to collect statistics on all of the flows that execute within your account.  Just configure a workspace level webhook that is subscribed to all types (success, skip, and fail).
